Two Days

The past few days have been a whirl wind. On Monday, I was part of a long uncomfortable meeting. At this meeting which felt much like a car sales transaction. The bargaining and negotiating of initiatives which we trying to prove are best for kids and a myriad of other initiatives. Yet, we quickly feel our efforts are a waste of time. If your thoughts and passions do not line up with the auctioneer’s thinking…just go ahead and do the bid away.

On Tuesday, we created a restorative circle and talked about various topics that are deeply serious.  Good conversation. I question sometimes the why behind or rational of discipline and when it happens. Should all situations deserve a consequence even if it doesn’t occur at school and does not cause a disruption at school?

“I always feel like it’s two key ingredients when it comes to following your dreams, making something happen that the average person deems difficult. If you truly believe it, that’s step one. Step two, is, you know, the hard work that goes along with it.” – J.Cole
